We're recruiting on behalf of a small, but rapidly growing, highly successful business within the manufacturing space, who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the business.


You will assist in managing the finance function from both a strategic and hands on perspective, taking the lead on all things financial with the aim of reducing waste and increasing company profit.

JOB TITLE: Financial Controller


LOCATION: Okehampton (with the opportunity for some remote working)


SALARY: £40, 000 per annum DOE


BENEFITS: 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing with service, some flexibility in work hours and opportunity for some remote working, contributory pension, onsite parking & fantastic progression opportunities!



YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:



  • Line management of a small team

  • Determining the actual cost and associated expenses of product ranges

  • Analysing company profitability and compiling the company budget

  • Reviewing and maintaining, P&L, balance sheets and general ledger

  • Recommending changes to policies and procedures to improve the company's cash flow and profitability

  • Leading the finance function and preparing monthly reports for senior management team

  • Taking a lead on the integration of new Order Management and Warehouse Management systems with Sage



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



  • You will have a formal Accounting qualification or will be working to achieve one

  • Previous experience of accounting in the manufacturing industry would be a particular advantage

  • The ability to implement and lead change and processes

  • The ability to undertake strategic financial planning tasks as well as hands on transactional tasks

  • Working knowledge of Sage

  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities and experience of manipulating data

  • Sound business knowledge and entrepreneurial approach to work

  • Accuracy and an eye for detail

  • Advanced Excel skills (Macro's)

  • Strong IT skills

  • Good leadership skills, previous experience of managing a team is advantageous

  • You'll have a problem solving approach and will be able to see solutions

  • You will be a good communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
