Job Advert: Financial Controller

Location: Swanley

Salary: up to £85k per annum

Hybrid: 3 days in office/ 2 days from home

Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5pm

We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our client's organisation based in Swanley. As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company.


  • Manage all aspects of the company's financial activities, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

  • Provide strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise financial performance and drive business growth.

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Supervise a team of financial professionals to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • Payroll and Pension Support, Journal preparation , Balance Sheet Reconciliations, supporting Tenders and Business plans

  • Assisting with ensuring VAT, Construction Industry Scheme, PAYE Compliance


  • Professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.

  • Construction experience would be extremely advantageous

  • Advanced Excel and experience with accounting software

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
