JOB TITLE: Finance Supervisor (Construction)


LOCATION: Plymouth


SALARY: £28,000-£35,000 (pro rata) dependent on experience


HOURS: Part Time or Full Time - Flexible for successful candidate - Ideally 30 hrs per week


BENEFITS: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, contributory pension scheme, free parking


THE COMPANY: An award-winning, down to earth Southwest based construction company employing over 40 qualified and experienced staff. Working closely with architects, engineers and surveyors, the company ensures smooth project management with the customers' requirements firmly at the heart of their services.


THE ROLE: The Finance Supervisor is a new role heading up the Accounts Department in this highly successful construction company. As a member of the management team, you will use your previous supervisory and finance background to be responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of 2 working on systems, payroll, accounts and processes. You will be the conduit between your department, management, and HR.


As this is a new position role the company, it is a great opportunity for someone to come in and really establish their position and make it their own.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:



  • Managing and overseeing a finance team of two

  • Supervising on daily tasks using Xero such as -

  • invoices

  • VAT processes including Trial Balance

  • monthly payment runs

  • cash flow

  • bank reconciliations

  • Preparing payroll for outsourced company to process

  • C I S Scheme verification paperwork

  • Monitoring costings for allocated jobs and liaising with QS team


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:



  • AAT Level 3 or equivalent experience

  • Some prior supervisory experience

  • Experience working within an accounts department

  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal

  • Experience in construction industry beneficial but not essential

  • A positive and friendly attitude

  • Great sense of humour
