JOB TITLE: Finance Manager

LOCATION: Taunton, Somerset

SALARY: Competitive

HOURS: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday

The Role: Reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage a team which has overall responsibility for Credit Control, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger. You will be accountable for the output and performance and this will be achieved through the provision of support and development to the Finance Department team members.

Working closely with the Financial Controller you will manage the existing team whilst driving change across the department, with a focus on improving processes and controls and driving efficiencies.

Key Duties:

  • Managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger teams (total of 8 persons).

  • Maintenance of a full set of procedure notes and task checklists, keeping these updated and implementing improvements.

  • Meeting Service Level agreements

  • Reporting to the business

  • Working with the Financial Controller to implement changes

  • Ad hoc projects as requested by Financial Controller

  • Working closely with finance business partners, operational managers and other key internal stakeholders.

Skills / Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in managing a team.

  • Experience of working in a finance function.

  • Able to demonstrate where you have improved processes and driven change.

  • Excellent people management and development skills.

  • Strong MS Excel skills.

  • Ideally AAT (or equivalent) qualified.
