Due to year-on-year growth my client, a market leader in the supply and service industry, is seeking a Finance Manager to take overall responsibility of the Finance Department. You must possess an ability to problem solve, work on your own initiative whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This is both a challenging and exciting opportunity to work at a company that invests in R&D and its staff.


The Person:


Experience in a similar role with a CIMA or ACCA qualification. Sage experience desirable.


Overall purpose of the position:


Invoicing, Credit Control, VAT, C.I.S, Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing.


Main Duties:



  • Invoicing for all Maintenance Department and Install Department tasks.

  • Raise all sales orders.

  • C.I.S submissions

  • VAT returns and VAT reversal.

  • Proactively chase the payment of retentions.

  • Assist in Administration of the purchase ledger, ensuring purchase orders are issued; matched to supplier invoices with goods receipt notes; signed off for payment by appropriate employee; reconciling statements; scanned for electronic storage; arrangement of supplier payments.

  • Assist in administration of the banking, including posting payments and receipts onto Sage.

  • Scanning of completed projects into the relevant site file.

  • Assist with miscellaneous accounting functions such as credit cards, petty cash etc.

  • Taking payment via Credit / Debit Card facility.

  • All other general administration duties including invoicing; faxing; scanning; filing; opening the post; franking etc.

  • Proactive continual and effective communication with customers in the most appropriate manner.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls

  • Use electronic knowledge systems appropriately: 2serv; Sage; Word; Excel; Outlook and the Internet.

  • Ensure the compliance of company procedures, such as Health and Safety; Environmental; Quality for all areas under your direct control.

  • Housekeeping of all elements including premises, people, equipment and vehicles to the highest possible standard in order to portray a professional image.

  • Display a proactive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.

  • Willingly carry out other duties deemed appropriate by the company.
