Office Angels Hull are a market leading recruitment agency, specialising in temporary and permanent staffing solutions. Our client is looking to recruit a finance assistant to join their combined Finance and HR team function. This long-standing education provider are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can assist with both accounts-based work and also provide an effective HR administration service. Being organised and adaptable, you should be able demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering good customer service. Having previous accounts and cash handling skills experience is advantageous. A good level of IT literacy such as Microsoft Word and Excel is a must.



The role:



  • Counting and reconciling the daily cash and card takings from our commercial outlets

  • Providing an effective counter service to students and staff, which includes processing cash and card payments and printing transaction reports upon request

  • Posting income daily from our bank statements into our Sales Ledger

  • Processing accounts journals and internal recharges in our Finance System

  • Scanning supplier invoices into our Document Management System

  • Monitoring our shared Finance email inbox

  • Assisting with other sales and purchase ledger tasks when required such as raising invoices and processing payments

  • Providing admin support to our HR & Recruitment CoCoordinator, including data entry into our Human Resources system, sending out letters and arranging interviews



To be successful in this role, you will:



  • Good communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and persuade

  • Working effectively in a climate where political sensitivity and confidentiality is crucial

  • Must be able to work as part of a team

  • Willing to undertake AAT qualification(s)

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
