WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?


A Finance superstar, OF COURSE! Reporting into the CEO the main duties of the role will entail…



  • Manage and maintain paper and electronic filing systems relating to the financial activities of the business including:

  • Purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, tax documents

  • Check invoices against purchase orders & delivery notes and pass for payment

  • Working to the appropriate in-house financial procedures and on occasions recommending improvements to the procedures to increase efficiency, accuracy, reduce cost and meet the changing needs of the business

  • Data entry into the Sage accounts system relating to sales, purchases, VAT, and bank transactions including:

  • Create new suppliers & customers

  • Input supplier invoices, sales invoices

  • Input supplier payments & customer receipts

  • Produce statements

  • Reconciliation

  • Production of monthly financial reports from the Sage system (pre-formatted) and provide further reports as requested by management from time to time

  • Resolve VAT coding queries, production of quarterly VAT report and submit to HMRC

  • Check staff expense claims and credit card statements for supporting paperwork before passing for payment and entry into the Sage system

  • Handle queries from suppliers and assist with resolving problems and disputes

  • Manage the approved supplier list and ensuring supplier details are correct and up to date

  • Set up new suppliers where appropriate

  • Maintain and review service contracts

  • Maintain the petty cash facility

  • Collation and entry of payroll data onto a portal system

  • Provide general admin services to staff and management as required

  • Liaise and support PIL accountant and tax advisor as required

  • Reporting discrepancies


THE IDEAL EXPERIENCE



  • Experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role

  • Recognised qualification in accounting or finance

  • In depth knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures

  • Excellent MS Word and Excel skills

  • Familiarity with small company accounting systems

  • Working knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software and/or familiarity with using Xero, QuickBooks Online or other cloud-based accounting software

  • Good organization and time management skills

  • Attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good organization, time management and the ability to work to deadlines

  • Up to £26,500 offer (pro rota) if you tick all of the boxes!

  • Part time with a maximum of 30hrs per week (minimum 22.5)

  • Office based with flexible working offered between 7.00am-6.00pm

  • Flexible on number of days worked (between 3 and 5, Mon-Fri)

  • Salary negotiable commensurate with experience

  • Potential annual companywide bonus scheme (based on company performance)
