HOURS: Monday - Friday 9am-5.00pm

OVERVIEW:


I am proud to be working with a leading Charity located in Farnborough. This is a FIXED TERM CONTRACT (6 months initially) for an experienced Finance Analyst to support a busy Finance Department.


What will you be doing day to day in your new role?



  • To provide an efficient and analytical support to the Finance Team and other departments within the charity.



  • Deal effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers using Fresh Desk software.

  • Create, analyse, and report on departmental KPIs using Excel spreadsheets for the Director of Finance & Services and other departments.

  • Assist with work requirements for the recently introduced new software (IMIS), including helping with UAT to ensure new processes are correctly embedded and tested.

  • Assist with the generation of report templates.

  • Under direction of the Director of Finance & Services, undertake specific projects in line with the Charity's business strategy and business plan.

  • Support the process of checking data included in the assessment of new income generating activities and in the costing of proposed new courses, including gaining knowledge of income derived from tuition fees and other income contracts.

  • Undertake analysis on processes and procedures to improve efficiency and cost reduction and report.



  • Other ad hoc projects



  • Provide cover and support to the other Finance team members, as required, to ensure orders are properly processed and fulfilled using Freshdesk. Deal with queries from customers and the Charity's fulfilment supplier.

  • Ensure the timely reconciliation of the IMIS debtors ledger to the SAGE control account, and balance. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of information held within the finance system by performing detailed financial reconciliations.

  • Programme software automated reminders to ensure timely payment of invoices. Communicate with customers where required, and report on progress using the IMIS reporting system.

  • Provide cover and support to the other Finance team members by preparing banking slips and making transactions. Assist with writing up cash books and performing bank reconciliations as required including making use of SAGE 200 to post and reconcile.

  • Represent the Finance Department and provide business support at departmental meetings i.e. Training Department, etc.



  • Work in collaboration with the wider Finance Team and undertake other agreed tasks as required to support the Director of Finance & Services and the wider Charity team members.



We'd love to speak to candidates who have:




  • Strong Accounting knowledge is essential (AAT qualification/part qualification)

  • Advanced Excel (essential).

  • MS Office: Word, Outlook (Essential).

  • 5 GCSE or equivalent including English and Maths to grade C or above. (Essential).

  • IT Systems knowledge. (Essential - training will be given on IMIS and Freshdesk).

  • Experience of Sage 200 or similar would be an advantage (although training will be given).

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.

  • Confident, clear, and accurate communicator.

  • Ability to prioritise workload to agreed criteria.

  • Capable of successfully managing several tasks or projects at any one time.

  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to influence at different levels.

  • Ability to work well across the organisation with peers, the senior management team, and Trustees.

  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

  • Flexible and adaptable to change.

  • Efficient and conscientious.

  • Approachable, friendly, and supportive while maintaining a professional manner.

  • Able to work with discretion and to handle confidential information.

  • Credit control experience and wider general finance experience would be advantageous but not essential (training will be given).

  • Work in accordance with the values and aims of the charity at all times
