Office Angels are currently looking for a Finance Administrator to join our Client - a long established financial adviser business in West End of Edinburgh. They are looking for a full-time administrator (35 hour week) to be involved in all aspects of running the back office of this small advisory business. Paying between £30k - £35k per annum depending on experience.


A minimum of CII Level 3 Certificate in Financial Services for this role is required.


Duties and Tasks:



  • Preparing client reports/valuations and updating client records on back office system (JCS). When carrying out encashments, keeping on ongoing record of disposals for CGT, if applicable.

  • Submission of new business both in paper format and online. Investments are usually made online, as are fund switches and encashments. Illustrations for investments and pensions prepared and instructions given to client who wish to pay provider electronically. Pension and protection applications can be made online or on paper.

  • Reconciliation of commission/adviser fees.

  • Monitoring pipeline - chasing underwriting decisions for protection plans, investments, transfers etc.

  • The position involves typing on a daily basis (transcribing dictation), and keeping records of all office matters, so attention to detail is an important requirement. The position covers all aspects of running a small office, e.g. overseeing supplies, utility bills etc.

  • Filing (scanning and shredding where required)

Skills and Experience:



  • Previous experience within the Financial Services industry is essential

  • Ability/flexibility to work as part of small team

  • A Team player

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience using Microsoft Office

  • Minimum of CII Level 3 Certificate in Financial Services
