Office Angels are currently working in partnership with an industry leading company and supporting them with the recruitment of a Service Planner. The company you will be joining is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to their customers and pride themselves on their commitment to quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a highly organised and proactive Service Planner to join their team on a permanent contract basis.

Position Details:

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience

  • Location: Gateshead

  • Hours: Standard office hours, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, fully office based!

Job Description:

In this role, you will play a vital role in optimising service operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating service activities, liaising with customers and technicians, scheduling appointments, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Your ability to plan and implement engineering schedules, resolve scheduling conflicts, and maintain high service quality will be key in this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurate data management, documentation, and proactive problem resolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate service appointments and assign technicians based on skills, availability, and location.

  • Maintain regular communication with customers, addressing inquiries and providing updates on service progress.

  • Manage service resources, monitor inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of service requests, appointments, and technician schedules.

  • Handle scheduling conflicts, emergency service requests, and unforeseen issues promptly and effectively.

  • Prepare service reports, invoices, and other documentation accurately and promptly.

  • Coordinate, manage, and relay engineer's tasks and work schedules according to customer needs.

  • identify and report on issues impacting service delivery, collaborating with internal teams to mitigate risks.

  • Ensure compliance with site, quality, and health and safety procedures.

  • Maintain up-to-date information in in-house systems to support planning and communication.

  • Proactively communicate appointment details and related orders with customers.


  • Previous experience in service planning or a related field.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in scheduling software, MS Office including proficient use of Excel.

  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
