Office Angels are currently recruiting for an experienced Events Officer, to join our client who are based close to Durham (DH1) on a permanent contract basis. The company we are supporting are extremely well established in their field, they have a supportive and close-knit team who will support you in your development from day one. You will be joining a busy and fast-paced Events team, so previous experience in an Events Officer/Coordinator role is essential, alongside strong marketing skills.

This is an urgent role to start ASAP, however, a maximum 4-week notice period will be considered for the right candidate.



  • Salary: Circa. £26,000 rising to £28,000 after 6-month probation

  • Hours: Normally 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday with hybrid office and home working

  • Holidays: 27 days, plus Bank Holidays, plus 4 discretionary days at Christmas





The role:


As an experienced event professional, you will be part of a successful events team, sharing the co-ordination and delivery of events and conference programmes. This will involve all aspects of the event programme, from content and format design to overall delivery, including:




  • Implement an ongoing programme of stimulating conferences

  • Full conference and event production (venue search and selection, liaison with academic programmers, provision of on-site services, sponsor search and liaison, etc)

  • Develop delegate growth through marketing/ promotional activities

  • Assist in the updating of website information and databases

  • Assist in the writing of the promotional copy and design of communications materials

  • Responsible for the logistical delivery of conferences and events online and face to face

  • Supervise volunteer helpers at events

  • Liaise with finance to assist the effective monitoring and controlling of budgets for events and conferences co-ordinated by you

  • General administrative and other office duties as required

Education / Experience



  • An events degree and/or significant events co-ordination experience

  • Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience of online conferencing software
