Exciting Opportunity for an Estimator and Procurement Executive!

Are you an experienced Estimator and Procurement professional looking for a new challenge? Our client, a reputable organisation in the production industry, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Estimator and Procurement Executive. Reporting to the Estimating and Procurement Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and efficiency in all aspects of production and operations-based administration.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse enquiries from internal personnel and create estimates for potential jobs and tenders.

  • Generate official Works Orders for production jobs using business management systems.

  • Source and raise Purchase Orders for materials, consumables, items, and services required for production jobs.

  • Collaborate with various departments including sales, QA, logistics, production, planning, and finance to gather essential job information.

  • Manage logistics and warehousing for work in progress.

  • Input, record, and update job data onto the business management systems and generate necessary reports.

  • Raise Purchase Orders for site consumables, maintenance parts, engineer visits, and service agreements.

  • Maintain stock of raw materials, consumables, office supplies, and production staff uniforms.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with designated suppliers and business contacts.

  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and other metrics.

  • Communicate with suppliers via email, in writing, and over the phone in a clear and professional manner.

  • Actively participate in team targets and contribute to continuous individual development.

  • Additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth running of the technical order processing department.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong team player with excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Cool and composed under pressure, with a willingness to share knowledge with colleagues.

  • Previous experience in a technical field, preferably in purchasing and estimating.

  • Confident and enthusiastic with a passion for continuous learning and development.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities.

  • Proven ability to build fruitful relationships with suppliers while achieving business targets.

  • Good understanding of gross profit and margins.

  • Experience in the packaging/greeting cards sector is advantageous.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent organisational and logical thinking abilities.

  • Proactive and flexible, with a willingness to learn negotiation techniques for effective supplier interactions.
