Are you looking for a challenging but rewarding role? Can you remain calm under extreme pressure? I am looking for a diplomatic, calm yet personable School Administrator/Receptionist to work in an alternative education school, based in South Tyneside.


This role is an integral part of the support service offered to many vulnerable children and families in the area. If you have experience of working within an Educational setting then this could be the role for you.


My client are based in a fantastic office location and are looking for a full time Administrator/Receptionist to join the team initially on a temporary basis for a minimum of 6 months, with the view to going permanent. This is an amazing opportunity to join a school where you really are at the heart of it all. The face of the business and the first person all school visitors will see. Above all, this is a role that you can make your own!


Working hours: Mon - Friday 8am - 4.00pm, 30 minute lunch. Salary: £21'080. This role is to start ASAP, therefore please only apply if you can be available to start work immediately/have a short notice period.


This is a term time only role; while on a temporary contract holiday entitlement is accrued, and is not paid pro-rota. Therefore holiday accrual will need to be saved for half term periods.


Duties of the role -


Reception:



  • Answering incoming calls (2 lines)

  • Passing on messages via email

  • Make outgoing calls to parents on request

  • Greeting all visitors; new supply staff and people on placement who are working on-site and signing them in and issuing badges.

  • Arranging meeting rooms

  • Offering refreshments to visitors

  • Updating on-line diary, making appointments on request


Administration:



  • Scanning, filing, photocopying documents

  • Typing of letters and various word documents

  • Daily update of CPOMS as and when required


Other Requirements;



  • Resilience!!

  • Previous experience within a school (preferred)

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable children within a challenging environment (beneficial)

  • The ability to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential information

  • Word and Outlook - Essential

  • Impeccable spelling and grammar - Essential

  • Outstanding telephone manner - Essential

  • The ability to remain calm in stressful, high pressure situations - Essential


This role will suit a candidate who works well under stressful situations, who can remain calm and level headed at all times.


You will be assessed on Grammar and Spelling and Data Entry prior to being shortlisted for this position.


A DBS will be carried out prior to the role commencing.
