Customs Import Manager
£45k per annum
Harwich, Essex
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Must have flexibility to work additional hours when required

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a busy customs team.



My client is looking for a person who can add extra quality to their already highly skilled team and be able come up with alternative solutions to challenges and problems whilst at the same time, working under pressure.



The Import Customs Manager will be expected to lead the Customs team to deliver department objectives and KPIs. A self-starter who is able to convey and implement their own vision to drive the team. Be able to create a culture that focuses on employees' strengths through training and development. Have full responsibility for UK Customs processes and declarations.


Key requirements:



  • An excellent understanding of HMRC regulations for international Exports, Imports and Transit

  • Proven track record and experience in International Operations essential

  • Lead, inspire and develop a dynamic Customs team

  • Ensure all Customs declarations and processes are completed within a timely manner to avoid delays to international parcels for both exports and imports

  • Ensure Customs declarations are compliant with HMRC regulations

  • Deliver key Customs KPI's on time as required

  • Lead and assist with the implementation of new operational processes in-line with the development of International services and products

  • Provide recommendations and implement Customs processes and simplifications

  • Liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with HMRC and Border Force on Customs matters and enquiries


Skills & qualifications:



  • Previous experience in this role.

  • Relevant qualifications in relation to the position

  • Computer literate - Must be competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexible to working hours and travel
