JOB TITLE: Customer Liaison and Communications Officer

LOCATION: Barnstaple / North Devon

SALARY: Up to £28,000 plus benefits

HOURS: 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday-Friday

THE ROLE: As the Customer Liaison and Communications Officer for the region, you will coordinate and lead on the region-specific marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement strategy from pre-build until the fibre build has been completed.

  • Use local knowledge and relationships to identify local PR opportunities to promote brand awareness and advocacy.

  • Implement the engagement and communications plan for each community and adapting it to regional needs in order to maximise lead generation.

  • Planning and execution of local community events and initiatives to increase brand awareness, engagement and lead generation.

  • Work closely with the central sales & marketing team to ensure close alignment of messaging and activity to positively impact the customer acquisition process.

  • Be a point of liaison for community contacts to assist the delivery team with network build phases (e.g. facilitating, but not negotiating wayleaves with landowners)

  • Assist the delivery team to quickly resolve potential issues that may arise as the build proceeds

  • Be responsible for stakeholder engagement and management

  • Work proactively and professionally within the region as the initial brand ambassador.


  • Superb communication skills being able to communicate to people at all different levels and great organisation skills, being able to organise several different workloads at a time.

  • You are self-motivated and have an optimistic solution orientated approach to work.

  • Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and efficiently

  • You have excellent communication skills and are able to present ideas and information simply and effectively

  • Project management experience desirable but not essential

  • Experience of managing stakeholders either in a sales or customer service environment is desirable

  • Understanding of the build process/engineering project delivery and the impact on local communities is desirable but not essential

  • Previous communication experience, in a B2C and B2B context is preferred (minimum 2+ years) and experience in a Telecoms or Technology company would be an advantage.

  • You're a Team player, able to work with multiple business functions to maximise customer experiences

  • You are able to take feedback to ensure you optimise your opportunity for development
