Our client we have worked in partnership with since they were established 6 years ago is looking for a fun and hardworking Document Controller/Site Secretary to join their busy and buzzing team. You will support and ensure efficient and straightforward running of the site admin, organising documents on SharePoint and ASite and being and all-round site support!

JOB TITLE: Document controller

JOB TYPE: 6 Month contract initially, thought the company hope it will stay perm

SALARY: £28,00-£30,000 Yearly salary depending on experience

Job Description:

The role of the Document Controller is to take responsibility for the recording and distribution of all safety documentation, drawings, specifications, information required schedules, method statements, requests for information, technical submittals, samples, change requests, site instructions and the like associated with the successful delivery of a project or projects.

This role is sometimes combined with the site secretarial role on smaller projects.

The role may involve exposure to clients and the client's professional team and as such good communication skills and confidence in ones own ability will be essential.


  • Make a difference to team capabilities by producing accurate, timely documentation at all times

  • Agree key responsibilities, ensure objectives are met and team are supported at all times

  • Represent the company in a presentable and professional manner always ensuring that actions are taken to make a difference wherever possible

  • Produce all completion documentation to ensure project complete is achieved

  • Build trust within the project team ensuring that everyone is confident with the Document Control process

  • Ensure company delivery procedures are adhered to

  • Be prepared to innovate when opportunities arise

Focus on Safety

  • Where possible, ensure full compliance with the company's health and safety and environmental process and policies

Winning Work

  • Assist the bid team in preparation of information required such as schedules

Delivering the Project

  • Manage online document control systems (when site/contract requires)

  • Manage all site documentation, ensuring they are all filed online as per the file structure and communicate which are the latest documents in use at any one time

  • Manage site samples and their sign off

  • Able to assist 2-3 sites when required

  • Assist with compilation of O&M manuals for handover

  • Assist the project team in the management and implementation of the document management systems.

  • Control document flow, ensuring that all revision-controlled documents are administered and distributed promptly.

  • Regularly update Document control system
