We have a new opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Manager based in Leicester to join a reputable growing company working as part of a small team in a very relaxed environment, the hours of work are Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm or 8.30am - 5pm depending on your preference.


As the Assistant Commercial Manager your main responsibilities will be;


Provide commercial support to the tendering team.


Define, negotiate and agree rates and terms and conditions.


Maximising financial and commercial interests whilst ensuring effective risk management.


Co-ordinating operational handover.


Assist with tendering of projects when the estimating team are busy.


Ensure that all enquiries and tenders are commercially controlled.


Understanding and interpreting to others contract terms and conditions.


Handover won tenders to operations indicating the salient areas of the tender, contract and specification, opportunities to be maximised.


Provide commercial support to the operational teams where necessary.


Assist with quality responses for tenders where necessary.


Work with all appropriate internal stakeholders e.g. Legal, Procurement, HR, etc.


Ensure commercial data is correctly maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.


Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.


Provide commercial input to annual budget setting.


Comply with all QHSE regulations and procedures.


Ensure current industry standards and practices are understood and adhered to.



To be successful in the role as Assistant Commercial Manager role you will;










Good planning and organisational skills.


Ability to work alone and in a team environment.


Ability to communicate at all levels in the business.


Computer literate, especially with Microsoft Office.


Ability to read, understand and interpret tender enquiries in a holistic manner i.e. drawings, specifications, terms and conditions, etc.


Ability to understand Gantt charts.


Strong commercial acumen.


Ability to manage numerous activities/projects simultaneously.


Ability to write quality submissions to a high level.


Knowledge of the urban engineering and technology market
