Day Concierge/Receptionist


Our client who are an independant day and boarding school are recruiting for a Day Concierge. You will be required to work 37.5 hours over 5 days per week.


Hours vary:


0730-1530 or 1030-1830


You will be first point of contact for School visitors, (including prospective parents, parents, staff, visiting schools for sports, governors and others), provides an efficient and effective 'meet and greet' service adopting a professional, welcoming and helpful, customer-focused approach to the role and directing them appropriately, Manages access for all deliveries to the School. Works as part of a team and on own initiative to ensure required services relating to the Concierge function are delivered to a high standard.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Located in the lodge near the entrance to the School, acts as the first point of contact for deliveries and other visitors to the School site.

  • Manages access to the School site by all visitors in cooperation with the Junior and Senior School receptions.

  • Accepts deliveries and couriers goods for the School, ensuring they are signed for where necessary and prepares and allocates all mail received for the onward distribution by caretaking staff.

  • Greets all visitors, staff and students to the School ensuring they are dealt with in a professional manner, are appropriately signed in and ensures that visitor passes are issued as required and that a record is kept in line with the School's Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.

  • Remains vigilant at all times, ensuring that anyone who is not recognised or authorised to visit is politely challenged as to why they are within the School, escorting unauthorised visitors off-site.

  • To help direct visitors during planned events and monitor parking to ensure compliance with School policies and provide a safe environment.

  • To ensure an efficient handover between shifts and effective communication of events and issues to the evening Security team and wider school community.

  • Remain at the school's main entrance for the vast majority of time to maintain site security/greet arrivals.

If successful a full DBS will be taken.
