Office Angels have teamed up with a forward thinking, dynamic client who are in the finance industry, are looking to recruit a Collections Specialist. This role is a busy role and you can work from home and in the office. You will join an established team of individuals who are hardworking, have excellent communication skills as well as enjoying developing within this company and sector.


The day to day duties in your new job will be….



  • Process inbound calls from customers collections and deal with these calls correctly and accurately with a high level of professionalism

  • Process outbound calls to customers, contacting them for due and overdue accounts to negotiate prompt payment within defined timescales

  • Establish payment plans for customers to ensure loans do not default

  • Ensure all customer outcomes are within regulation and to the benefit of both the customer and the business

  • Keep accurate record of all contact on main Collection Management Systems

  • Process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments

  • Monitoring and Maintenance of assigned accounts

  • Identify trends and gaps in policies, procedures, strategies and systems


Training will be provided on in-house systems.


Required Skills and Abilities



  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience within call centre setting

  • Assertive and confident with telecommunications

  • Understanding of Dialler system calling

  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills

  • Results and target driven

  • Ability to handle and diffuse challenging calls

  • Ability to work under pressure and to be able to show a flexible and adaptable approach.

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Empathising with people in difficult situation

  • Strong team player

  • Attention to detail


Benefits:



  • Need 2 years min in a regulatory collections environment

  • Hybrid role (60/40)

  • Local

  • Shift basis between 9am-8pm Mon - Friday (and 1 in 4 Saturdays with a day off the following week)

  • Average 60-75 calls in and out per day

  • Some admin is involved

  • Immediate or start asap

  • Salary £26-28k
