Part Time Grants Coordinator position - Okehampton!

This role would suit someone with an accounts or insurance background or a project coordinator with strong numerical skills and a methodical approach to work!

JOB TITLE: Claims and Funding Co-ordinator

LOCATION: Okehampton

HOURS: 24 hours per week across 3 days, with the option to pick up additional hours

DURATION: 12 months fixed term contract

SALARY: £20, 000 - £24, 000 per annum dependent on experience pro rata

THE COMPANY AND ROLE: This not-for-profit organisation specialise in offering expert advice to rural businesses across the South West. They are looking for a Claims and Grants Coordinator to join their small claims team to support with a 12 month project. You will work to support local businesses and organisations through the claims process, assisting with enquiries and submissions, and ensuring that they meet contractual obligations. You will manage multiple projects at one time, so this role would very much suit someone who enjoys prioritising a busy workload, and a fast paced environment. Full training will be given for this role, but we are looking for someone who is accurate and meticulous in their work and who is confident with numbers.


  • You will be the first point of contact for businesses making grant submissions. You will be their go to person within the organisation, providing advice and guidance on the process

  • Processing grant submission forms and supporting documents, checking and auditing these to ensure that these are correct

  • Liaising regularly with businesses to request any further documentation needed to support their application

  • Ensuring that business are meeting the contractual obligations of their grant

  • You will submit claims for approval on behalf of businesses

  • You will be responsible for monitoring the progress of each application to ensure that important deadlines are met and will communicate these to the businesses


  • Accuracy and attention to detail is key with the ability to identify error and discrepancies

  • Strong numeracy skills

  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel

  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information

  • Someone who is methodical and accurate in their work

  • Ability to prioritise reprioritise and manage a busy workload with regularly changing deadlines

  • Someone who is process driven
