Ceded Re Accountant

OA Executive is proud to be working in collaboration with a growing global insurance business in their search for a Ceded Accountant to join them. Reporting to the Head of Partner management, you will manage regulatory compliance for all fronting arrangements and manage the reinsurance flow, premiums and claims.



Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with Head of Partner Management to ensure documentation is in place for all fronting arrangements, including but not limited to; reinsurance, intercompany, service, delegated authority and TPA agreements

  • Work closely with the business and perform quality checks to validate Transmittals, Premium Breakdown Tool and Commission Module to ensure accurate recording of premiums, taxes, commissions and fees for all fronting arrangements

  • Work closely with the business and perform quality checks to validate that claims are consistent with claims handling guidelines and are properly recorded. Understand all fronting reporting requirements and work with Business Intelligence (BI) to set parameters for premium, risk and claims bordereaux and attendant settlement arrangements.

  • Understand all reinsurance requirements and work with Business Intelligence (BI) and front end insurers to set parameters for quota share premium, risk and claims bordereaux and attendant settlement arrangements.

  • Perform base level testing on all existing and new bordereaux, both front end and reinsurance for accuracy and monitor on an ongoing basis

  • Monitor production of bordereaux / reports as prescribed in delegated authority and reinsurance agreements and manage delivery timelines

  • Record and monitor SLAs. Produce reports to evidence adherence to agreed timelines

  • Work with Finance to manage the accurate reconciliation of all payables, receivables and cash

  • Chase outstanding collections, both front end and reinsurance, either internally with Sales or externally as appropriate with direct interaction with Policyholders, Brokers and front end insurers



The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven background within accounting, ideally with a part or full qualification within finance such as ACCA. You will have experience from within either insurance or reinsurance. You will have an understanding of premium and claims flow management, as well as multicurrency reporting, billing including consolidation and regulatory reporting.



Furthermore, you will be highly computer literate with strong technical accounting, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
