Product Administrator / Trainee Buyer


£up to 30,000 per annum + 20days holiday + BH (+1yr + 1 day), Pension, Parking, Life Assurance ++


Tonbridge


Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 5.00pm - Hybrid Options are working remotely on Fridays, a further day can be negotiated following a training period.

Who are we looking for?


The role requires a self-motivated, organised and focused individual with good attention to detail who can work on their own initiative whilst also being able to form part of a small creative team. If you are looking for a career with excellent training this could be the opportunity you are looking for!


You will bring a flair for spotting new trends, sourcing new suppliers and a keen interest in fashion, buying / merchandising. You will need sound IT skills including Excel and highly numerate but mostly be looking for a role where you can learn, develop and gain a career.


Daily Tasks



  • Managing existing product ranges

  • Conducting competitor benchmarking

  • Developing, sourcing and managing new products

  • Managing product lifecycles by using analytical skills to monitor the sales and profit margins of products through their lifecycle

  • Conducting market research to underpin specific development

  • Negotiating both cost and quality with suppliers to meet margin expectations

  • Working with the design team to ensure product specs are communicated and understood by suppliers and viable for production

  • Have a strategic awareness of the market, following and reporting back on market trends and innovations within the market

  • Establishing and building relationships with suppliers , visiting supplier factories both in the UK and overseas

  • Working within critical paths to ensure deadlines are met

  • Creating and maintaining detailed technical product specifications


What are we looking for?



  • A creative flair and relevant qualification relating to Marketing / Fashion / Design / Purchasing / Procurement.

  • Relevant administration skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to communicate to a technical detail

  • The ability to communicate a clear brief and ensure deliverables are met

  • Highly numerate

  • A keen eye for detail and an understanding of the creative aspects of a product

  • A highly professional, confident self-starter

  • A problem solving mind set

  • Confident with both Microsoft Word, Excel and numerate.


There will be travel involved within the role - Trade Shows etc within Europe. This will be known in advance, and overnight.
