If you're looking to be part of a friendly, professional and hands-on team then this is the ideal opportunity you've been looking for! This position with a Civil Engineering firm has come available as one of the team members is due to go on maternity leave. This team works closely together in supporting the wider business and so they've allowed time in the contract being offered to ensure that you get a through onboarding and training period before the maternity leave starts so you'll have plenty of time to get to grips with the role and ask any questions to help with your understanding.

This is a role where you have to be organised and able to spin those plates as, in amongst your scheduled tasks, you are reactive in your support to the wider team; you might need to arrange travel and accommodation, get an important document sent out before deadline or have an urgent enquiry come in that needs actioning so it's important to ensure you're on top of your workload at all times. Assisting the team members, you're also involved in various finance administration tasks so experience in this area would be ideal, however, they're happy to train someone up if you have a keen eye for detail and are confident in learning and using new systems.

Summary of duties:

  • Finance administration tasks e.g. generating and sending out POs and invoices, matching invoices, updating SAGE, processing staff expenses, updating the tracking spreadsheets

  • First point of communication for all calls and emails to the business

  • Creating new jobs on the system and ensuring all relevant files and trackers are updated and saved to the record

  • Assisting with getting new sub-contractors on board by ensuring all compliance is gained

  • Business Admin tasks such as formatting, filing, distributing post, ordering stationery, booking travel and accommodation, updating fleet details along with any other admin duties as needed by the team
