JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper (Part Time x2 days per week)
COMPANY: Not for profit, membership organisation - Education sector
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: 16 hours per week, flexibility offered
FLEXIBLE WORKING: 1 day minimum from the office
SALARY: £25,000 - £30,000 pa x2 days per week (£10,000-£12,000 pro rata)
LOCATION: Walking distance from Angel or Old Street station!

  • Day to day accounts

  • Accounts receivable - raise quotation and invoices

  • Account payable - processing invoices

  • Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets

  • Staff expenses

  • Chase and collect overdue payments in a professional manner

  • Prepare suppliers to pay run file every week

  • Attend and participate in collection meetings by updating and keeping the manager informed of current statuses

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional teams involved in the AR process

  • Ability to negotiate and manage relationships

  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task is essential


  • Passionate individual about the Not-for-Profit sector

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Excellent knowledge of Xero

  • Someone who has an AAT Qualification or relevant experience in an all-around role in an SME.

  • Confident, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure

  • Preferred skills in VLOOKUP and spreadsheets

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, an eye for detail and a team-oriented, problem-solving approach
