JOB TITLE: Bid Writer


COMPANY: Family-owned business now leading contractors


CONTRACT: Permanent


HOURS: 8.00am - 5:00pm


SALARY: £45,000-£50,000


START: ASAP


LOCATION: Ability to work from the Central London or Northwest London locations


BENEFITS: Car allowance, travel allowance, 25 days annual leave plus an additional 1-2 days as goodwill at Christmas, in house training and team building events



DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO:



  • Planning and managing all aspects of the bid process and delivering presentations in line with the company's brand, position and processes

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders

  • Lead kick-off workshops as well as facilitate and contribute to strategy/ solution workshops

  • Plan and manage bids

  • Manage direct reports

  • Internal and external communications between clients, consultants, Head of Bids, colleagues and key stakeholders of all levels as required through tender periods

  • Writing compelling compliant content accurately and review the work of others

  • Question analysis, breakdown, and answer planning

  • Legal and commercial appreciation of RFI/PQQ//RFP/ITT content

  • Independently leading large complex bids whilst expanding and maintaining professional networks internally and externally


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:



  • MS Office Skills essential and In Design skills preferred

  • Professional with proven experience in bidding, MUST have experience with construction bids for public sector (heritage, community centres, schools, housing associations, or hospitals, etc.)

  • Project management

  • Translation of brand strategy to content/communication

  • Friendly and approachable who is able to work well in a team

  • Excellent writer with an enthusiasm for the profession and pays attention to detail

  • Positive approach to their work and is adaptable

  • Coaching & Managing others, including delegating, coordinating, appraising, and mentoring colleagues across all levels of seniority

  • Persuading and influencing clients, consultants, suppliers and colleagues

  • Creating and delivering persuasive bids and presentations

  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback

  • Extensive influencing and guiding stakeholder skills

  • Ability to understand strategy, stakeholder motivation and goals
