Assembly Operative - 6 Month Temp to Perm

Office Angels are currently looking to support one of our long term clients with a 6 month contract which will turn into a permanent position at the completion of the original time period.

Hourly rate: £9.50
Weekly working hours: 39
Weekly shift pattern: Monday to Thursday 7:30 - 16:30, Friday 7:30 - 12:30

A 10 minute paid break in the morning and afternoon along with a half hour unpaid lunch break is also taken into account.

The main responsibilities within the role will be as followed:

  • To build all types of switching and lighting control units to meet production requirements

  • Manufacture of cable assemblies

  • Manufacture of hand soldered PCB assemblies to IPC 610

  • Epoxy potting of keycaps and other metalwork

  • Testing of all product types

  • Adhere to AS9100 standards

  • Interface with NPI to report any build issues

  • Interface with the QA department to ensure that all paper work is filled out to the correct standards

  • Complete route card and layouts in correct sequence ensuring operations of build are completed in sequential order only

  • Record consumables used and make sure Tools and TE are in date and correct

  • Flexible approach to changing priorities, calm under pressure, shows commitment, honesty, integrity and discretion, shows strong leadership traits.

  • The company is moving towards a paperless working environment therefore good PC skills are essential as you will access all engineering documentation via PC at your workstation.

  • At least 3 years in a production testing environment where similar type of work is undertaken i.e. small batch volume, low to medium value but high in mix of product typically 200 - 300 per month

  • Good communications and numerical skills (written and verbal).

  • Attention to detail with Problem solving skills. Approachable and Professional.

  • To be able to read technical Drawing and Electrical Schematic Drawings as well as being able to recognise SMD components.

  • Knowledge and awareness of ISO9001 and AS9100D standards

  • Full in house training will be given with each manufacturing discipline
