A utilities company on the outskirts of Exeter are seeking an administrator for their small, friendly construction team. This is a massively growing business with lots of opportunity for right person! The company would welcome applications from both experienced administrators, as well as ambitious individuals at the beginning of their career who are eager to learn and progress.

JOB TITLE: Administrator (Construction and Utilities)

LOCATION: Exeter (southern outskirts)

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm, or 8:30am - 5:30pm)

SALARY: £22, 000 - £26,000 per annum dependent on experience

THE ROLE: Reporting to the Head of Construction, you will be supporting the smooth running of the Construction office in an administrative role. You will be organising project meetings, typing up documents, responding to business enquiries and liaising with customers. There are lots of opportunities for progression within this role and within the business more generally.


  • Providing full administration support to the Construction team

  • Acting as the first point of contact within the company answering calls and transferring accordingly

  • Preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes and circulating

  • Preparing construction presentations in Powerpoint

  • Assisting the team to book meetings and organising diaries

  • Maintaining physical and electronic files or other organisational system

  • Managing the supplier approval system

  • Chasing and compiling site health & safety documents and construction site documents

  • Ordering and purchasing materials, arranging deliveries and tracking status of orders.

  • Providing clerical and administrative support for the site.

  • Answering questions on departmental services and functions

  • Raising purchase orders
