We are proud to be working with a long standing charity based in central Reading who are looking for a Personal Assistant to support the CEO on a temporary basis.

Salary - 30k

Location - Remote working until you can safely return to office in central Reading

Hours - 10am - 4pm (subject to change when working in the office)

Start - ASAP

The successful candidate would be the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and would support the Chief Operations Officer and Heads of Department with the day to day operation of the charity ensuring that the office operates efficiently and in a co-coordinated manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CEO's diary, correspondence, travel, expenses, meetings and minutes and other duties as directed by the CEO.

  • Liaison with and support to the trustees of the organisation

  • Liaison and coordination with external organisations as directed by the CEO.

  • Schedule and organise meetings

  • Prepare and distribute the agenda and briefing papers for all meetings in a timely fashion as directed by the CEO, HODs or COO.

  • Take and subsequently distribute notes, actions or minutes of meetings, monitoring the completion of follow up actions as required.

  • Assist the COO with the provision of the support function, including assisting with office reception and general administration (scope and extent to be confirmed in due course.)


  • Educated to degree level.

  • Experience of operating as a Personal Assistant to a Chief Executive Officer or equivalent, ideally in a charity.

  • Experience of (and ideally some training in) IT or HR support or the management of Health and Safety at Work in an office environment an advantage

    Skills / Knowledge / Aptitude:

  • Confident, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to use initiative and take responsibility for delivering targets and achieving success.

  • Possess tact, diplomacy and sense of discretion and the ability to communicate at all levels both within an organisation and with external agencies and partners.

  • Well organised with developed planning skills and ability to prioritise, manage a busy workload and multitask in order to complete tasks within deadlines.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with a good eye for detail.

  • Ability to assist, supervise and motivate staff.

  • Ability to use influence and persuasion to ensure the implementation of agreed policies and procedures.

  • Capable user of Microsoft Office programmes.

  • Excellent team player and listener with a good sense of humour and an enthusiasm for the objectives of the charity.
