JOB TYPE: 6 Month FTC with the potential to go permanent after this

HOURS: 6am - 2pm, Monday - Friday

SALARY: £32,777

My client is one of Europe's leading transport services organisations.

The vacancy is for an experienced Storekeeper initially based at our Palmers Green garage and at any ALN garages at completion of training period, with a Fixed Term Contract of 6 months, with possibility of extension.

You will support the garage team by ensuring efficient supply of vehicle parts for the maintenance regime. Reporting to the Engineering Manager of the depot, key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Liaison with central purchasing department, external suppliers, and other internal customers;

  • Manage stock levels to meet the depot needs within budgetary limits;

  • Accurate recording of all materials parts from stores to vehicles, alongside monitoring daily spend against daily budget;

  • Ensure all warranty and surcharge items are processed in line with Company's procedures;

  • Safeguard all parts / materials in stores to prevent loss, damage or misuse;

  • Full compliance with all Health and Safety Regulations;

Candidates must also demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, put into practice in a demanding workshop environment. The role will work closely with the Engineering Manager in order to deliver key performance objectives in respect of service delivery, stock accuracy, reliability and presentation, within clearly defined budget limits.

The successful applicant will be highly skilled and task orientated, whilst being able to work on their own and as part of the workshop team and wider supply team. You must have 2 years' experience in a similar role using an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP, a forklift license and car license. The abilities to work autonomously; be organised, accurate, and be able to work to deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of objective are essential to this role. Computer literacy is essential; including competent use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook packages.
