JOB TYPE: 6 Month FTC with the potential to go permanent after this

COMPANY TYPE: London Transport

HOURS: 7am - 3pm, Monday - Friday (client is also flexible with 6am - 2pm and 8am - 4pm shifts)

SALARY: £21,382 pro rata

LOCATION: Thornton Heath

We are looking for an Engineering Administrative Assistant, this is a full time position. This role is responsible for recording defects into our system, creating and maintaining reports, taking care of vehicle documentation, creating and archiving rota packs, ordering stationery, taking minutes and creating/maintaining our documents archive .


Engineering Admins play an integral part in the efficient and effective reporting and maintaining compliance within bus garages and provide vital support to the Engineering Management team.


The principle duties of this position include:



  • Accurately recording of defects into our computerised system;

  • Keep vehicle files up to date with legal documents required;

  • Collect and record weekly engineers' job sheets;

  • Create incoming Rota packs, open and close work orders in Oracle and file documentation;

  • Cover holidays for other garages;

  • Complete DICs forms in time and accurately;

  • Ordering stationery, arranging recovering of vehicles, dealing with specific suppliers.

  • Maintain notice boards and H&S files up to date.



The successful applicant must be able to:



  • Demonstrate computer, numerical and verbal skills, and there will be a requirement to work at any location within the London operating area. The ideal candidate will need to work well as a team, be assertive and have good organisational skills. The working day is dependent on the needs of the business, and may include weekend working and some unsocial hours.
