JOB TITLE: Accounts Assistant


SALARY: Up to £24,000


LOCATION: Bingley


HOURS: 35 hours per week Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9:00 - 3:15pm - Nice early company finish on a Friday!

Overview of the role: Joining a well establish team of 3 you will oversee the general accounts duties. Within the team there is a Finance Director, Finance Controller, Assistant Accountant, and yourself.


To be successful in this role, you will love being involved in the day-to-day duties of accounts and have experience within an Accounts based role. You will be hands on and willing to help! You may wish to learn something new? The company and team will train you if there are certain areas of accounts you have not had exposure to, like Payroll maybe? This isn't a problem; you can be taught so it is another string to your bow!


Duties will include:



  • Working out VAT payments

  • Making payments via BACS and cheques

  • Processing staff expenses & credit card expenses

  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Filing invoices

  • Managing petty cash

  • Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries

  • Import related bank docs, check and accept and distribute and liaise with shipping companies as appropriate

  • Calculates duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight and volume of merchandise that is imported or exported to foreign countries.

  • Payroll Cover (You can be trained in this, it is not essential you have the skill currently)

  • Intrastat completion

  • Other ad hoc duties, covering for Sales Ledger

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Purchase ledger invoices, authorisation process

  • Matching, checking and coding invoices

  • Investigating purchase price differences

  • Stock invoices - GRN match

  • Audit: assist with queries
