Accounts Assistant

Office Angels currently have a a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant, to join a successful company who are based on Team Valley, Gateshead. Experience within an Accounts Assistant capacity is essential. AAT qualification or equivalent accounts qualification is also beneficial. Due to the urgency of this recruit, please only apply if you are available to start work immediately or with a short notice period!


This is a fantastic opportunity, to join a company who are based on Team Valley, on an initial 9 month fixed term contract basis. The role is very likely to turn permanent thereafter.


Flexible working hours are offered! A general working week is around 37.5 hours, however start and finish times can be negotiated.


Salary: £20k - £24k, negotiable depending on experience.


Role responsibilities:


Manage the accounts and admin office, and provide Accounts assistance to company Directors.



  • Assistance with completion of credit account forms for new suppliers

  • Making purchases using company credit card

  • Filing and processing invoices via Sage

  • Filing supplier invoices and statements

  • Answering incoming calls

  • Staff holiday requests and processing

  • Checking supplier statements

  • Processing credit card expenditure

  • Processing staff expenses

  • Producing supplier and client statements

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Managing supplier payments


Person Spec:



  • It literate

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar accounts or admin role

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Strong communication skills

  • Organisational skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload


Due to location, it is beneficial if you drive with access to your own vehicle.


Please only if you have the relevant skills/experience in Accounts. The company is ideally seeking someone with experience in Accounts and of using a Sage package. Training and a handover will be provided.
