£20k-£26k per annum
Chelmsford, Essex
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

My client, a well-established accountancy practice is currently seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to join their family-run practice in Chelmsford to assist with the day to day running of the company.

This will include:

  • Accounting and administrative support to clients

  • Administering accounts payable and receivable

  • Account/bank reconciliations

  • Completing general ledger operations

  • Assisting with year end

  • Processing VAT returns and payroll

  • Understanding of VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax would be preferable

  • General administration - telephone calls, emails, incoming / outgoing post

  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed to support the smooth running of the company which will include but will not be limited to payroll processing and accounts compiling so experience in these areas would be an advantage.

Skills / Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role within a practice or bookkeeping role.

  • Confident in speaking on the telephone, meaning excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

  • They will also be computer literate in MS Office ideally with experience of Sage 50, Xero, TAS, and similar accounting systems would be advantageous.
