Role: Accounts Assistant - 9-12 Months Maternity cover


Location: Halifax (HX5)


Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (Can be flexible on hours and possibly 4 days per week for the right person)


Salary: up to £23k


Start date: September 2021


Benefits: 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (rising to a maximum of 28 days), BUPA Healthcare (optional), free parking on-site


Are you a motivated and hardworking individual with experience working within Accounts? Do you have a keen eye for detail and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment? If so, we have an excellent opportunity to support an established company of over 25 years, based in the Halifax area.


Our client is looking to hire a Maternity cover (9-12 months) Accounts Assistant to join a small but busy team based on the outskirts of Halifax (HX5) to support them.


Accounts duties will include:



  • Processing purchase invoices

  • Credit control - chasing via letters/emails

  • Monitoring and updating currencies on system

  • Working with multiple currencies - PLN/EUR/USD/DKK

  • Dealing with the Accounts for two companies

  • Covering Sales Ledger- Customer ordering, Sales Invoice and Customers prices

  • Expenses - from the UK and Poland


Administration duties will include:



  • Ordering stationary and raising the purchase orders to cover

  • Ordering and checking import documentation from Customs agent

  • Producing shipment paperwork for Hazardous Goods - DGN's and SSNs

  • Processing Engineering orders

  • Booking in parcel shipments


We'd love to you speak to applicants with:



  • Previous Accounts experience - Please note this is essential

  • Previous experience working with multiple currencies

  • Excellent numeric skills and a keen eye for detail

  • A positive, "can do" attitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages - in particular MS Excel


The location would suit applicants who live in Halifax, Huddersfield, Cleckheaton and Bradford.
