Office Angels are currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Administrator, to join our Sunderland based client, on a 6 months fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.


The role of Accounts Payable Administrator is to ensure vendor and employee expenses payments are processed in a timely manner, invoices are recorded accurately and in line with month end duties. Previous experience within a similar post is essential, however training and a full handover will be provided.



  • Location: Sunderland, free on-site parking

  • Pay rate: circa. £10 per hour

  • Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week, flexibility on days worked, start and finish times can be offered

  • Contract: 6 Months, fixed-term contract, employed directly with the company

  • Training will initially be office based, however once fully trained there is the option of hybrid working

  • This role is to start ASAP, however a short notice period can be considered.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Inputting and processing purchase invoices

  • Checking purchase orders to the invoice in the system

  • Reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Consolidation and analysis of credit card statements to receipts

  • Daily cash book transaction posting

  • Dealing with invoice grief and payment queries

  • Liaising internally and externally to resolve invoice queries

  • Assist with creating and processing payment runs for approval


Full training will be provided in relation to the above duties. Experience in all area's is highly beneficial, but is not essential.


Knowledge and Experience



  • Demonstrable experience in data input in an accounts payable environment

  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel

  • Proven experience of working efficiently as a team

  • IT literacy - Excel essential

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Outstanding planning and organisation

  • Good prioritisation

  • Highly numerate

  • Approachable

  • Excellent time management

  • Deadline driven

  • Process improvement focused
