THE ROLE:



Accounts



  • Assisting the Finance Manager in maintaining the business's accounting records: Including updating the supplier's ledger with invoices, maintaining and reconciling the business's bank account, petty cash records, and adding and reconciling the business credit card transactions.

  • Dealing with accounts queries.



Purchase Ledger



  • Adding supplier invoices to the purchase ledger

  • Monthly Purchase Ledger Reconciliations

  • Process Purchase Ledger Payments

  • Issuing of remittance advice to Wholesalers

  • Maintaining Clean Ledgers & Filling System

  • Maintain Direct Debit Schedule.



Bank & Cash



  • Create payments for approval in HSBC net

  • Post payments in SAGE Line 50

  • Daily Bank reconciliation

  • Post credit card & direct debit Payments

  • Control and post petty cash expenditure.



Retentions



  • Collate Client-side retention



Sales Ledger



  • Issue customer invoices from valuations received from Commercial Managers

  • Credit Control duties, ensuring all Sales invoices are paid within the agreed payment terms.



Management Accounts



  • Post Journals including Prepayments & Accruals

  • Assist with overhead analysis against budget

  • Assist with Balance Sheet & P&L Reconciliations



Other Duties



  • Process monthly employee expenses to Eque2/Sage & process payments.

  • Assist with Quarterly VAT Returns

  • Provide cover for the Subcontractor Clerk during leave periods,

  • Completion of Ad-hoc duties upon instruction from the Finance Manager



Required Experience and Qualifications



  • Finance, Business or Economics qualification or training for a qualification

  • AAT Level 4 Qualified*

  • Experience with Sage, Eque2 & COINs is a bonus

  • 3 Years Minimum Accounting within the Construction Industry

  • Understanding of C.I.S Legislation is a bonus.

  • Looking to complete ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification.
