Working through Office Angels
When you register for assignment work with us, you become an employee of Office Angels. You’ll get paid through us and have access to some excellent benefits.
We’ll ask you to sign an Agreement, which makes our relationship secure and official. This agreement puts down on paper what we promise to provide you as an employer and outlines what we expect from you as an employee.
We’ll provide a copy for your records and we’ll keep one too.

Timesheets and payments
Timesheets = Money = New stuff! Important little things indeed.
Each week you’ll receive a new timesheet, which we can either post, email or fax to you.
You need to complete the timesheet at the end of each week, or on the last day of your assignment, and fax it to your Consultant. It’s important that you submit it by 9:30am on a Monday so that we can pay you on time.
You’re only paid for the time you actually work, which means lunch breaks are unpaid.
Friday is payday and you’ll receive your earnings weekly, in arrears. We can either give you a cheque or pay your money straight into your bank or building society account – it’s up to you.
Tax
Boring, but important.
Just so you know we’ll pay you for every hour you work and your rate will vary from one assignment to the next. We’ll always let you know what rate is on offer before you accept the work.
Your tax and national insurance is taken from your salary automatically to save you hassle with tax returns. All you need to do is give your Consultant your P45 so we can set you up with the right tax code.
Hours of work
Typically, your day will start at 9am, but this may vary. Before each assignment, your Consultant will confirm your start time and the number of hours you’ll work each day.
On occasion, you may be asked to work over this number, but your hours should never exceed an average of 48 hours per week.
If you have any concerns about your hours of work, please speak to your Consultant.
Health and Safety
We want you to look after yourself, so please make sure that for each assignment you follow a few simple guidelines:
- Find out who your health and safety representative is
- Ask your line manager or health and safety representative where the nearest fire exits are - along with the correct evacuation procedure
- Adjust your computer screen so that it’s at the right height. Ideally, your eyes should be in line with the top of your screen
- Adjust your chair so it’s comfortable. You should be able to keep your feet flat on the ground
- Never try to fix machinery that you’re unfamiliar with
- Make sure you know where the first aid box is
- Never lift anything that will put a strain on your back
- Always report any accidents - no matter how minor
- Adhere to all non-smoking and hazard signs
